Description and analysis

Heavily diluded paint plays with the fraught relationship between chance and deliberation in art;  This particular painting is an example of artwork that has been carefully planned but with the end outcome influenced by chance.  The artist has allowed for the paint to run through the surface of the canvas, to mix freely, and to create brilliant fluid shapes.  He has expected a certain reaction but is unable to absolutely control it. This effect of fluidity creates a canvas that resembles a marble piece with its overlapping geological formations. Creating a compelling and undoubtedly human creation, the painting evokes the process of relinquishing control and letting nature decide.
